Pushpagiri, the second higest peak of Madikeri and Tadiandamol are also popular trekking destinations in Madikeri. The best time to go for these treks would be between the months of October to February. The river cauvery orginates near Madikeri at Talacauvery. Valanoor, the backwater of the river Cauvery is famous as an angling destination in Madikeri. Valanoor draws fishing lovers from all over India and you could try catching the famous mahaseer here. The best season to do this would be from October to May. White water rafting is another option that the river Cauvery opens up for tourists in Madikeri. For white water rafting in Madikeri you need to visit the Upper Barapole River to the south of Madikeri in Brahmagiri. The best time for rafting in Madikeri is from mid-June to mid-September


The Madikeri fort, with its imposing structure which was rebuilt by Tipu Sulthan. The Veerabhadra Temple inside it was removed by the British and replaced an Anglian Church, which is now converted to Museum. The Madikeri palace built by Lingarajendra Wodeyar II is located inside the Madikeri fort. The royal tombs built in the Islamic style is another spot in the Madikeri town which offer a commanding view of the town. Omkareshwara Temple, Raja's seat, Abbey falls are few other spots in Madikeri which one shouldnt miss during the vacation to Madikeri.
